Cera

Cera

Tamuril named her demiplane Cera after the ancient Azlant word for wax because of its early use by primitive scholars as a writing surface and after a myth in which a man and his son fly from captivity in a tall tower by constructing wings of wax and feathers. Cera’s most recent measurement found it to contain roughly 40 square miles at half a mile high, although it grows constantly due to many daily castings of Create Demiplane and Create Greater Demiplane to increase its size. It is dominated by rolling fields of grass, although a forest, a river, and a set of cliffs also occupy the demiplane.

Many of Cera’s trees and animals have been Awakened and have picked up various spellcasting abilities by studying the passers-by, and the animals of the fields mainly amuse themselves by using Prestidigitation to change as much grass as possible to their favorite colors. The conflicting interests of the animals has sparked a war of sorts, complete with alliances of animals who prefer the same colors and particularly-hated rivals, that gives the fields a slightly disorienting and ever-shifting color scheme. An annual judgement is made of which color covers the largest area; electric blue and amaranth with magenta polka-dots are the most recent winners.

Most of the more powerful inhabitants of the demiplane regularly prepare healing and protective spells in case of danger. Furthermore, the demiplane is divided into 100-foot square sections, each of which is assigned to a group of inquisitors that is most commonly composed of insects and is dedicated to determining the alignment and surface thoughts of each creature that passes within its domain. These inquisitors are telepathically linked so that the groups can report to each other with ease and rapidity; many of Cera’s other long-term inhabitants are also part of this network. As an additional precaution, divination spells are cast frequently to determine the time and strength of the next attack upon Cera. An evil creature that appears in Cera is usually detained within a minute of its appearance and dealt with promptly.

Cera has permanent gates to dozens of locations on other planes, many forming part of Interail. It is home to a large set of giant, mechanized animals which includes Apparatus of animals as various as the crab, penguin, hedgehog, thrush, and giraffe. It also houses Sevorlane University. Cera is mildly good-aligned, bountiful, seasonal, minor positive-dominant, and morphic, with subjectively directional gravity and enhanced magic (spells in the healing subschool).
